Maybe Later

New track “Maybe Later” with its sub underlying a rhythmic off-beat mid-bass giving it a sway kind of feel around that jump up snare.

Well received by my old school mate Ross (Zerofux) who I first went to Bowlers Exhibition centre with to see multi-room happy hardcore and jungle. We were 18 years old and it was amazing to finally hear in person the Stu Allen hardcore tapes I’d play on the walk to school. Such a lovely arena of happy people it was. Went back for more, and more.

I went for the hardcore, but ended up going back for the jungle room. Here the bass shook your bones. Here you had more than just the four four thump. You had poly rhythms, syncopated drum breaks, sped up hip hop beats, layered to create a sound that draws you in. Still loved happy hardcore, but the bass and beats focussed jungle gradually converted me.

It was only in the smallest room in Bowlers to begin with. Eventually it got so packed and hot in there they moved it to the 2nd arena and gave it a much bigger sound system to match.

So what is this track “Maybe Later” and why write anything? In short answer, sometimes a short description is needed before anyone clicks on a link. Now every time I release a track I force myself to write a short snippet that roughly describes what to expect.

So why this blog? I could keep this as short as the one or two sentence description but I have stories to tell, and what better place to do it than here. Not sure if many clickers will read past the first paragraph, but it’s there if they want to.

If you’ve read this far, thank you.

I’m using the World Wide Web the way it was intended. By hyperlinking information. In my case I’m linking these posts to influences and people in the stories.
